I am wondering if it is possible to make a form with a multiple select dropdown that will record each of the selections as an individual entry? For instance, a multi-select dropdown containing student names that creates a separate data row for each student selected. Thank you.
Hi Russell!I think it’s not yet possible and I’m not sure if we really need it. Any other cases where we can use it?
Thanks, Igor. I’ll check with caspio.com.
Caspio.com will do the back-end coding for about $300.00. If you were willing to do it for pay could you beat that price?
Yes, we can do it for 280$
$250.00 and you’ve got yourself a deal . . .
Agreed. Make a payment to firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll implement this feature within a week or max two.
Generally I am used to paying half down ($125.00) and the second half on completion. Does that work for you? Also, is it clear what I need? A multiple-select dropdown that will create unique records for each item selected. I will use the form for employee training. Date – Topic – Select Employees – Trainer
Russell, your task is clear for us. But we need full amount before we can start. We’ll deliver the best result for you, you know us for a long time.Thank you!
You drive a hard bargain. Please post the PayPal address again — it seems to have disappeared from the thread.
Russell,we got your payment and starting working on your task. We’ll let you know about any progress or questions we will have.Thank you very much and talk to you soon!
Hi Russell!I’ve invited you to “Multiple select dropdown” project. It has “Employee training” form. This form has same fields as in your example, i.e. Date, Topic, Select Employees and Trainer. On “Forms” menu, in the “Advanced options” you should see “Multiple select dropdown” control. You’ll see such control in any form, which contains Checkboxes. You can assign to any checkbox control that it will act as ‘multiple select dropdown’. Once activated it will create as many records as many options you checked on this control while filling the form. It this number more then 1 of course. I.e. if no option was selected or only one it still creates just one record. Please, be patient if you’ll notice any issues with it. Because currently it’s in Beta. Please, let me know what you think about it.
Igor,I like it. I tried a form with a file upload and was also glad to see that while the form only uploads one instance of the attachment it still creates unique entries for all employees selected.
Hi Russell!I really glad to hear you like it.To be honest I didn’t know about file upload. But I’m sure this feature will be really useful, we just have to understand what we’ve built and how it can be used :)Please, let me know if you need anything else.
Two thing that would be really nice — a “Select All” box that would allow a single click to select all boxes. An “Add Name” option that would allow the user to click an icon (+) that would add a Select Box with a blank field for the student name.
Russell, for now we’ll leave it as it is. Because we need to be sure it stable enough. And we want to get more feedback and make this feature work well in the state it is now.Once we’ll finish it, we’ll get back to your improvements. We’ll leave this feature in Open state, so we’ll not forget about it.Hopefully this plan will be ok for you.
