How to manage the distancebetween the fields

Igor Petrushenko
December 3, 2018

Hi,
Please, can you send us the screenshot, so we can see what exactly you trying to adjust.

Igor Nosovskiy
December 4, 2018

Hi Miche,

You need to open Field editing and specify CSS class name – two-column to the both fields.
The example in the picture below

Now in the widget menu, go to the CSS tab

And upload the margin.css file attached in this thread and press “Update”.

You can also edit this css-file and set your own values.

.two-column {
clear: none !important;
float: left;
width: 37% !important;
margin-right: 30px !important;
}

If you have any difficulties, please contact us.

I followed these steps and didn’t get two columns. I still have one field per line.

Hi Inunison70,

Tell me please, did you specify CSS class name – ‘two-column’ to the both fields?

inunison70@yahoo.com
December 7, 2018

I see. I didn’t add two-column to two fields.
How do I keep a two-column line after a single line field?
Every time I apply the css to two fields after a single column field. The first column attaches the single field and doesn’t stay on the following line.

Sorry, but the issue not clear for me.
Please, can you clarify, maybe paint on the screenshot.

inunison70@yahoo.com

In the screenshot, the city field is on the wrong line. It should be under the address field.
The address line 2 field should be single.
The city and Region fields should share the same line.

I added two-column to city & region field only, nothing to address line 2

Igor Petrushenko
December 7, 2018

They all should be with pair.

Currently you have two-column for first 3 columns. Then ‘Street address line 2’ goes without any class.
Then again 4 fields with two-column class.
So the problem is under the Adress column. You have to add pair or remove class from ‘Street address’ column I think.

inunison70@yahoo.com
December 8, 2018

Incorrect.

1st line has ‘two-column’ class
2nd line has no class
3rd line has no class
4th line has “two-column’ class.
5th line has ’two-column’ class

But the 4th line is jumping to the 3rd line. How do I stop this?

for eg.
1st line Date, Email ‘two-column’
2nd line Street Address no class
3rd line Street Address Line 2 no class
4th line City, Region ‘two-column’
5th line Post Code, Country ‘two-column’

inunison70@yahoo.com

I removed class from City field and I get screenshot. The two fields are joined again.

December 8, 2018

This is incorrect:
1st line has ‘two-column’ class
2nd line has no class
3rd line has no class
4th line has “two-column’ class.

The idea beside this classes is to place 1 and 2 or 2 and 3 or 3 and 4 on the same line.
Having 1 and 4 will not properly work. Because it works for fields with +-1 position.

inunison70@yahoo.com
December 8, 2018

You mean to say I can only use two-column CSS for one line only or on every line on the form?
That I can’t alternate single lines with two-column lines?

I used 1 and 2 = two-column
What is my next option for two-column?

Igor Petrushenko
December 8, 2018

three-column or four-column will place 3 or 4 fields horizontally.

inunison70@yahoo.com
December 8, 2018

Well, yeah, I gathered that. But we are talking about 2 column, not 3 or 4.

Can you answer the question?
Im about ready to give up on this if I can’t use multiple columns in different lines.

1st line has ‘two-column’ class
2nd line has no class
3rd line has no class
4th line has “two-column’ class.

Igor Petrushenko
December 8, 2018

Again, two-column will take 50% of the line with the field near it. Makes no sense to give that class for 1 and 4 it will break the way it shows.
I can manually configure your form if you will explain what exactly do you want.

inunison70@yahoo.com
December 8, 2018

It would look like screenshot. Yes, it breaks it up, but it still has good visual flow.
My application form is 5 pages and will have various fields within one page. I need the program to have more flexibility.
Assuming from your reply, then the form can only run in single, double, triple or quadruple column format per page.

Great. Thanks for the screen, we will make an adjustements on your form.
I will let you know when it will be done.

Igor Petrushenko
December 9, 2018

Done. I just added two-column for City, Region, Post code and Country and they are placed on two lines with two fields in a row.

Hope it helps!

inunison70@yahoo.com
December 9, 2018

I still see this.
Am I supposed to do something to the form to change it?

Hi, inunison70@yahoo.com

Have you achieved the desired result or you still need a help with the field’s location on the form?

inunison70@yahoo.com
December 10, 2018

My name is Brent
Sorry.
I wanted the address lines to be single line and then rest of the table below to be 2 column…
Right now the form looks like screenshot below and it doesn’t look good.

I want the layout to look like screenshot below, but the region field is stuck to city field. It should be evenly spaced.

Hi Brent,
We noticed some issues with field’s position on the form.
Our programmers are working on a fix right now. Some functions may work not properly.
I’ll write when everything will be fixed.

Igor Nosovskiy
December 11, 2018

Fixed.
You can try. Add a two-column class only for those fields that you want to place horizontally.
For example, if you need two fields City and Region then you need specify ‘two-column’ to both.
Please write to us if you have additional questions.
