Database filtering allows you to fetch data by some latter. It is s simple way to get data for column by some word very fast
We've implemented one more user request called Database Filtering.
Database filtering is another great addition to Search functionality necessary to improve the way you search for your data. It searches for the entries which 'filter by' column value starts with a filter character or word.
Please, go to the Records menu and find a new Filtering link.
Click on it and you will see that database filters are expanded.
You can filter your data by digits 0 - 9, small letters a - z and big letters A - Z. Or you can just type your filter character or word as shown on the screenshot below.
Of course, you will be able to select any of your table columns or form fields, call it as you wish.
Once you stop entering your filter word filter triggers, you will see spinner animation at the center of the screen.
Please, make sure to wait while database filtering is finished.
Then you will see the result of your combination of a table column and a filter word.
The same can be done for any other column. Play with it for a few minutes to understand how beautiful the filters are.

So you will not need to type anything. Just select the column you wish to filter and click on any character or digit. Soon you will find Filtering as a good and quick way to find the data in your table. Point-and-click filtering is much easier than Search. However using Search you will be able to combine search criteria, you will have more conditions to find any value in your database.
And you will see all the entries, which column starts with a character you click on.
DB filtering in the database widgets is just the same. There is only one difference, that is you will be able to select only visible columns.
We need to admit that filtering is our step to implement Views functionality. We will need to add grouping first. And after that you will see how QuintaDB handles Views ;)
