Formula: How many days between last updated date (or any given date) to today's date?

Publication date: August 13, 2018

Hi Igor,
Thank you for your answers to my earlier question.
I feel I have now learnt a lot about the logic of team and reports as well as formatting rules etc, as well as importing tables etc.
I have been glad to see that the software works really smooth and quick and there are many quite advanced options and functionalities.
I have also some ideas how to work-around some of the problems regarding emails to invited new members. I can share those ideas with you when I have tested them.

Question: How can I create a formula where i count the days since a given date?
We need to track progress of our projects and see easily how long time has gone since signing a contract for instance, or how many days left to a deadline as another example.
For that I would need to calculate the time between the dates given two date fields, where one date field would today’s date.

Can you give me some advice please?

Best regards,
Björn

Hi,

Tried to populate new form with a .csv file.

Upon completion got a prompt “No Forms found, Add One!”

I have no idea where to go or what to do… Oh, I tried this twice with the same result… HELP!

I hope the attached screen shots will give you a clue as to where I made my error(s)

Thank you, I really am looking forward to using your software.

Testing newsletter + import procedure

Publication date: August 20, 2018

Dear support :-)

I’ve tried sending out a test-newsletter but it did not arrive. Am I cleared to be able to send such a newsletter or is there still something I’m supposed to do before I can do this?

Secondly, I also have troubles importing CSV-files. All info of the record is put into one field per record.
When importing, I am also used to seeing the ability to link certain category names from one file to categories of the other.
Obviously, I don’t understand you’re approach to this and look forward to learning more about this.

Many thanks,

form with a search button

Publication date: August 15, 2018

Does MTH have the capability to create a form with a search button that makes a results page appear when search button is clicked?

In other words, would the example below be possible?

Could I upload an excel file of family names and addresses. Then make a form that has a text field and a button. The text field is for the user to type in a family name. The button is a search button. Once the button is clicked, a results page appears with family name and address (from the excel spreadsheet) that match the users input.

Thank you for any feedback!

Copying existing csv database to MTH and creating a table for my website page

Publication date: August 15, 2018

I have a database that includes PDF files and ZIP files along with other information that I would like to transfer to MTH. I’ve imported them and created a table but it shows up as text. I want those who visit the website to be able to open the files on the website. Do the files need to be saved using a MTH form or can I import them directly to the table so I don’t have to manually populate the table? I am not a programmer and have no programming skills or background. The reason I am looking to change is because of the complexity of the current system that was created by a programmer and my inability to manipulate it.

Bug between my records

Publication date: August 15, 2018

I am cleaning the data that I imported and I have discovered that several of the records are connected to each other and when I choose “select theater” for one, it changes the other. This is all in the Production Form. One of the entries for 16th Street Theatre is linked to one of the entries for Cabrini Repertory Theater. Another 16th Street is linked to Cafe de la Gare. There are two Cherry Lane Theatre entries that are linked, one to the Cleveland Public, another to Company One.

Please tell me how I can unlink these.

Thanks,
Elana

How to migrate from DabbleDB or InfoDome to MyTaskHelper

Publication date: August 15, 2018

Hi!

First of all, difference in terms between dabbledb or InfoDome in MTH:

The database in MTH is called the Project. The table is a Form. One project can have many forms, i.e. the Database have many tables. You’ll be able to link forms using
relationships.

To migrate from the dabbledb (or InfoDome) to MTH, please, follow these easy steps:

  • Required steps

  • 1. Backup you dabbledb database

  • 2. Signup for MTH Trial. We offer a 25% discount for dabbledb users in case of buying 1 year unlimited access. So it would cost you only $ 175.00 USD per year for the first year.

  • 3. Unarchive your dabbledb backup. It contains CSV files.

  • 4. Import your dabbledb CSV tables to MTH one by one

  • 5. If you had no luck importing your table this is most probably due to limitations on a Free Trial account, it’s 10000 records, 3 forms, 100 columns/fields, 30 users, 250Mb file storage, 3 charts. If you believe there is another issue, please, contact us.

  • 6. During import all forms will be created and you’ll be redirected to the Records page, where you’ll be able to Search, Sort, Filter, Group your table, invite team members, create Views etc.
Basically this is all you can do in dabble. But in MTH managing form (table) structure can be done only on the Forms menu.
So, to Edit fields, add or remove new Forms, setup relationships, field rules etc, go to the Forms menu.

  • We do not ask your column types during import, so you’ll need to adjust your field types immediately after import.

Importing

Publication date: August 15, 2018

I have successfully imported 4 databases with no problems. Now I’m trying to build a 5th one, but I keep getting this error msg: “First line should be column names. After import they will represent field names”. I see that at the top of the Records page all the column headings are there.

I don’t know if I did anything different this time. I can manually add records, but cannot IMPORT. I erase the project and began over again. The same problem. I have tried importing only one line, or 67 and the same problem.

I was also getting an error msg that I had two columns with the same name, but I did not.

I was also getting some very strange things imported before this problem. Text that did not come from me.

Problem with importing CSV file to create a Table/Form

Publication date: August 16, 2018

Hi,

I’m unsure as to what the root of the problem is but when I try to test the DB out by importing some of my CSV files, it won’t import and I would like to find a resolution to my problem.

May it be because the file size or the number of input data is too much?

An example CSV file is attached below for reference. Attached is the most populated of the bunch that didn’t import properly.

Thank you very much

Importing records with a relationship field

Publication date: August 16, 2018

I’m having trouble importing CSV records when one of the field headers is “Select XXXX”. That field imports as empty, even when the data matches a record in the linked table.

How can I import tables with relationships?

Thanks

Import Function - Mal Function

Publication date: August 16, 2018

When we import a file to to create new rewords is Mal Functions:

Firstly – after importation – it shows all records have been imported, but when we go back to the records and update the view, the view does not show the records that we have updated.

Obviously we tried a few times.

Secondly – We tried to see if the records might be created – so we did a duplicate search, And there were 3 duplicates of each record.

1. Why does the records that were imported not display in the view after importation?

2. Why does create new allow duplicates to be created – does it not check the validation limitations on the system?

Please fix this problem

Having problems importing records

Publication date: August 16, 2018

Hi,

I have an existing database structure set up on MTH. I am now trying to import data in csv format into the MTH database. It gives me the message:

“Not improted because you have two columns with the same name. All fields should be with different names.”

I have the same file names, so that the process would know which column to put the data. Please advise what I should do.

Re-Import After Relationship

Publication date: August 16, 2018

After I import a spreadsheet to a table, and, after I relate that table to another one, I’d like to be able to re-import a modified spreadsheet to update the first table, without losing any of the vlaues from the linked table.

Member - Export/Import

Publication date: August 16, 2018

For a “Member” (read-only), the “Import” link should be disabled (better if it’s not even shown), but, the “Export” link should be shown (it’s not) and should enabled.

Since there isn’t any reporting feature (yet), these type Users should have a way to get a report on this data (an export to a spreadsheet is an alternative) – they can’t change the database by just exporting, so, there’a no harm, and, if someone didn’t want them to export, they shouldn’t have access to view this data online.

Update existing entries via import (match on record ID)

Publication date: August 20, 2018

This is a must-have feature that was incredibly useful in DabbleDB. As a application developer, it is often necessary to have users outside the database update information that is inside the database. In this situation, it is critical to be able to bulk update existing records. There are also cases where it is simply faster to manipulate/update data in bulk in Excel and import it back into the database.

Here’s the link to the DabbleDB description of the feature: http://blog.dabbledb.com/2008/10/plays-well-with.html

Import from XLS/CSV File

Publication date: August 20, 2018

Instead of importing from a set of records that have been copied & pasted from a text file, it would much appreciated to be able to just Browse and select a file that’s either an XLS or CSV type of file, with the option of specifying that it has a header row or not.
