conditional formatting?

i am attempting to format a field based on it meeting certain criteria, is this possible? I saw formatting and rules but neither accomplish what i need in this scenario.

Dear Sir/Madam,

i am looking to build a request form of several services which i provide. The Customer is to select the required service via a TABLE.
Therefore, I am looking to make check box which means he select the main service (each service has a cost which means each select box is a value)
then after selecting the main service the customer to add the details of the selected service via a table
he will add a raw for each additional service. which is a drop down box (as each check box is a main service, thus each check box has a drop down button. and each one has a value)
at end he will see how much is the selected service.

i had made a mock sample of required form (used excel) hope this will help you to assist me to my requirement. i don’t know how to do an add button, i only places a “+”
)

Rules and Page Breaks

If the Field Rule Editor “Then” dropdown included:

Hide
Show
Go To

And the user could select the “Go To” by page number (or page ID) — when Next Page is clicked the user is taken to the selected page.

This would be true conditional branching and very powerful.

File Upload not working with Field Rules

Bug or Intended?

I have tried creating a rule to display a field when a file is exists or has been uploaded but no matter how I setup the rule it does not work as inttended. I have tried “is not empty,” “like,” amongst a few others with no success.

One of the rules on my Deal form is not working.

There is one very similar that is functioning just fine so I am not sure what the issue is.

Formula on form and in field rules

As mentioned in an earlier email I would love to see Field Rules allow Formula fields to be included, the use of Relational Data allows a lot of information to be fed into a form before data entry takes place, this incoming data could be used in many ways to enhance whether data entry is allowed or not by the data entry form.
In the above form example I have hidden the display of Select Agent field based on whether the field contains data, the inclusion of formula fields for Field Rules would greatly enhance MTH in this regard.

Compulsory Hidden Check Box - Stops Form Processing

I don’t think I have made an error.

I added a check box for yes and a check box for no.

I made the check box control compulsory

I told the check box to only be visible if end time is not empty in rules

However when I then enter a start time and submit the form it is firing a warning requiring a choice. This is the warning tied to the not visible check boxes. Is there a step I am missing?

I have created a form with a mail-field ‘project responsable’. When editing the form I want to warn somebody through mail when the form is completed. In order to do this I have created an action in which I define: when field … is ‘ok’, then send a mail to field ‘project responsable’. After filling in the mail-adress and status = ok I don’t receive a mail.

* can I check if there was sent a mail ?
* what am I doing wrong ?
* the adressed person is a customer. Does each customer need to be a member of MTH in order to let this work ?

I have created a form in which a representative has to fill in a field. This document will be mailed to the manager who will evaluate the application/request. If he decides to give it a ‘go’ by filling in/submitting a second field, the third person will be informed by mail. This person will complete the form with necessary data. In my example I have created three forms ( representative, manager and administration).

What people may see in the form:

representative ==> field 1
manager ==> field 1 and 2
administration ==> field 1 and 2 and 3

First I have created a form “administration” in which the three fields are available.
Secondly I have made a clone of form administration (name = “manager”), removed field 3. The data are submitted to form “administration”.
Finally I have made a clone of form manager (name=“representative”) and have removed field 2. The data are submitted to form “manager”.

I don’t know if this setup is allowed or is ok for use. It doesn’t work since it is not submitting data tot the main table (“administration”).

I find it strange that after setup I loose the possibility in the second table “manager” on advanced settings, it doesn’t react anymore.

Can I receive some help please?

Trouble With Dynamic Form

On my form I have a drop down box with relationship of many and belongs to. Depending on the user selection in the drop down box I want to show another field in the form.

I have tried various field rule settings however it seems you cant start with the fields hidden until post a choice in the drop down box. Is this correct? I cant see anyway to do it.

I made a test form using your example and note Country is treated differently to my drop down box within the field rules system. I suspect this is the issue

Radio Button + Rule + Edit

We have a form which uses a 2 answer Radio Button option. There is a rule that says if “a” is selected show field “x”.

Everything works fine until you “Edit” the entry within the widget. If you click “Edit” the radio button answer is blank by default thus when you hit “update” it would reset this question into blank.

If you manually select the answer again when editing it will properly register it.

Any ideas? If you need further information I’ll be glad to provide it!

Bug in Field Rules

I have come back to this very annoying bug. The form uses an intricate pattern of value to hide/reveal fields, which are themselves numerous. I have found that there must be a point where MTH is losing field rules, though I can not ascertain where or why this is.

Issues with Date Field

Field rules that evaluate a Date field that is set to default content do not work if the condition is based on the date=empty parameter.

Field rules in Submit To form

1. Duplicate the form and test… field rules are OK.


2. Use Advanced Settings to write data of duplicated form to another central database


3. Field rules are then corrupted and resulting form is useless.


The process of writing to the central database is losing certain field rules.

I just went to field rules to add a field rule of:

If reading A is less than reading B then ask the user to redo readings as this is impossible

I realised I cant do this. It is critical to what I am setting up, and I am sure I wouldn’t be the only one needing a similar feature.

Can you add to email fields in form or db settings some rules or an regular expressions that will forbid to enter “;”, “.” and other specific symbols except symbol “,” that use to separate.

Relational database request

When a relational database is created and then linked to it’s form the drop down field generated does not have an option to select a default, this will lead to problems with data entry as it is inevitable that a user will forget to make a selection and then all field rules and image fields that are brought into the database are null and void. I can see no way around this issue other than MTH to allow an optional default selection for the SELECT drop down that is created.

Disable a Field

I need to disable a field that came from a legacy spreadsheet. It still needs to be shown (for a while, until its replacement set of fields are populated), and, later, it will be removed, but, in the mean-time, it should be able to be changed (by anyone).

Perhaps, a “Field Rule” would suffice for this (currently, via a “Field Rule”, you can only hide or show a Field).
