This looks like what I’ve been looking for. However, I can’t seem to control “Access to only own records”
Even though I have this check marked for new users that register, when they input data they see data from other users.
I created 2 different ‘dummy’ accounts to test. And indeed user ‘A’ is seeing the data of user ‘B’
I’m using the free version at the moment but would upgrade if this can be figured out.

I now have tried your customer portal access model. One question:

Is it possible that data within one table can be linked to / protected for a single user for input, maintenance and visibility?

E.g. a projects holds tables with data which should be visible to all users and data that should for a single user only.


How can I make it so all administrator-level users are able to edit charts?

Just wondering if there’s a way I can have all the users I have registered as Administrators be able to create and edit charts as they can do with reports. Right now, when under their login and editing a chart, only the integration tab is visible, not the settings tab.

Is it possible to restrict the customer access to its vehicles only (and products, obviously)?
Other questions:
– Can I redirect the customer to the Vehicles form or table after a successful login?
– Can I restrict the vehicles and products forms and tables access only for authenticated users?

Struggling to find tutorial Videos

I cant find many video tutorials on youtube for the new version of MTH and I need a lot of help ;-(
Am I looking in the wrong place?

We are looking to create a database that will do the following

We are calling on prospects to offer them a new heating boiler for their home

We collect the data, then do certain checks. Once the checks are completed and the customer is approved we then send out a surveyor to inspect the property. Once the survey is done then we send it to the installer. Once it is installed then the lead generator is paid

We need for the:-

For agents to add leads to a database (i worked this out :-) )
For agents to view their own leads and status only (not that of others)

I would like to take the 1st 4 characters of their business name and add an incremental number to make this their ID. Can this be automated?

When the agent logs in and adds leads in the lead data entry form I would like to automatically add their agent ID. Or even add from a drop down box if it can’t be added automatically

How do you capitalise the letters automatically?

For admin to go in and allocate the leads to a lead manager ( the lead manager only sees their leads)
for the lead manager to book a date for a surveyor –
For the surveyor to see his booked leads with addresses
For lead manager to then allocate to an installer – Installer only sees installs allocated to them

In the data entry forms is it possible to have Multiple columns?

So for example:

We would like to have 2 columns for some of the fields like their name. Also telephone and email horizontal rather than vertical

I’m experimenting a little to see what I could do with MTH.
I haven’t manage to find how to set user-specific rights to see certain rows or columns other than defining that a user can see only his/her own records or all records.
We have projects where we define in the beginning of the project which of our employees and our customer contacts should be able to see the status, comments, details and files of the project, regardless of which team member has added the comments, details or files. Then it would be good if we could design the view presented to employees to look a little different than the views presented to the clients (The clients should not see all columns/fields).
Can this be done in MTH?

End user to be able to update just some records

I need a end user to be able to update just some records, and not all of them.
The rest of the records must remain unseen for the user.

A quick question — why is the green Create Database button visible when team members with only read and write permission log in? It distracts the user from the records they are intended to use.

Field editing

I would like a “comments” field to display in a table where only that particular field is editable and not the entire record. Ideally, I’d like people to be able from the web to be able to add and not subtract information from that field. Is that possible?

Lookup & Filtering

Team records can be filtered by a user. For instance students added by each user can only be seen by that user (and the administrator in records). But if records are accessed in a relationship drop-down those records are not and cannot be filtered so that the logged in user can only select from their “added by” students. Is this correct?

I’m building a simple sales management app for a client and would like the users to add companies to a single form and then only be able to select from the companies they have added on a Sales Activity Update Form.

I have accomplished basically the same using the Login Query Engine on an editable table — but would like to add that same type of filtering functionality to a form.

Customer login/profile updates counted as Users?

I have created a form in which a representative has to fill in a field. This document will be mailed to the manager who will evaluate the application/request. If he decides to give it a ‘go’ by filling in/submitting a second field, the third person will be informed by mail. This person will complete the form with necessary data. In my example I have created three forms ( representative, manager and administration).

What people may see in the form:
representative ==> field 1
manager ==> field 1 and 2
administration ==> field 1 and 2 and 3

First I have created a form “administration” in which the three fields are available.
Secondly I have made a clone of form administration (name = “manager”), removed field 3. The data are submitted to form “administration”.
Finally I have made a clone of form manager (name=“representative”) and have removed field 2. The data are submitted to form “manager”.

I don’t know if this setup is allowed or is ok for use. It doesn’t work since it is not submitting data tot the main table (“administration”).

I find it strange that after setup I loose the possibility in the second table “manager” on advanced settings, it doesn’t react anymore.

Can I receive some help please?

When i originally signed up from the page on google, I was under the impression we could intergrate user restrictions, as what I was under the impression that when I assign an agent contacts then this is all he can see, and not other forms!!! if that makes sense

Security by Form - too much hassle now

We have 8 “Forms” – I would need to “Invite” a User for EACH of these 8 “Forms” , in order for them to have access to each of them – this change is NOT user-friendly and NOT desired by us, or, it would seem by any normal group of Users!

If I wanted to do this occasionally with several Users, I’d have to do this same long procedure for EACH one!

Earlier, when I added a User, they automatically had access to ALL the “Forms”. It’s a good idea to be able to select which “Forms” a User should have access to, and, which type of access, but, this procedure is very unprofessional. When a User is added, the default should be a specified access (e.g., “Read & Write” or “Read Only” and, by default, should apply to ALL “Forms”, unless otherwise specified, as that’s how most groups of Users would prefer to do this.

Filtered results embed code

I would like to be able to create filtered results embed codes. For instance, I create a form for employees to fill out regarding their activities, and one of the form fields is “Your Supervisor” — I would like to be able to then create results embed codes for each supervisor and embed those results in a page that only that supervisor has access to. One form can then be used to distribute results to many supervisors.

Editable/non-Editable Database Links

It would significantly enhance the possibilities of the system if users are given a choice of Editable AND non-Editable links (both Embanded and Direct) at the same time simultaniously.

At the moment as a user I can only choose to have one of the above. However, ideally I would need to give my client a link to the table that is only possible to view and to my employees the link to the same table that would give an option to Edit. Without need to log it to mytaskhelper website.

I understand that the above would probably mean significant amount of work, but the result is obvious. Then, also, there will be no need for a “tick” to be put to allow users to edit records as those unauthorized to edit would just be given non-editable link.

Whould you be looking at something like the above. I know there was a similar request already to do multi profile (if I’m not mistaken).

Filtering suggestion

Just a suggestion for whenever you have some extra time —

A powerful way to filter database results is to be able to use the User ID and/or Password option as the filter.

I create a form that includes, among the other fields, a User ID and Password.

In the database widget I make the User ID and Password field not visible, but the results are automatically filtered by the Password field during login.

In this way I can provide access to a single database and at the same provide data only to those I want to see it.

Temporary remove database access to logged in users

I know it there somewhere, but I need to temporary remove database access to logged in users, so I can work on the form builder, change/add fields etc.

In basic terms – whist Im working on DB, I want no one else to login or to be on DB.

Can we do this and if so can you point me in the right direction.
