Upload image error

Publication date: April 30, 2019

Hi Igor,

I’m facing a problem I’m not sure why. I have several forms with Image upload and they work fine.

I created a new form and used Image field and try to upload different JPG’s but getting the attached error “File type not allowed”.

All other forms are working perfectly, only 2 forms newly created not accepting upload.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Form Validation inquiry

Publication date: April 30, 2019

Hi Igor,

I have a form with Name (no duplicated entry configured) and Image Upload 1, Image Upload 2 ..etc.

When a user enters a duplicate name, and the form gives instructions to change it, the user changes the name but upon submission the form gives an error saying “Image 1 can’t be blank. Image 2 can’t be blank” although pictures are already uploaded. Once we re-upload the pictures there is no problem.

I tried both “validate only on submit” and without (while checking “can’t be blank”) but still if a user enters a duplicate name, the images won’t be submitted unless we re-upload them.

This gives confusion to my users. Please advise, thank you.

Formatting Inquiries

Publication date: August 13, 2018

Hello Igor and team,

Thank you for your previous help… much appreciated.

I have a couple of questions if you don’t mind.

Q1 (attached screenshot) – when trying to export PDF in the Record table that I made in Arabic, I get the letters all scrambled up. I tried using the Language icon in the records builder to switch the language to Arabic, but no luck. The Excel seems fine and so does the Print option. Only extorting to PDF seems to not work.

Q2 (attached screenshot) – when reviewing the Record table with a picture inserted, the picture doesn’t take a bigger size. Clicking on it opens the original size, but I’m trying to have a single records sheet printed with the picture bigger and more visible. I edited the image size in Forms > Upload > Advanced Options, but no matter the size I set, it only affects the Embedded Table Preview, not the Record that I created. Is there a way to make the pictures bigger in the Records table?

Thank you so much for your help.

How to insert image into URL field type

Publication date: August 15, 2018

To insert an image into the URL field type you need to do the following steps:

1. Go to menu Forms and add a single line field type.

2. Select the url item in the validation box.

3. Go to menu Records and enter an image url address into the field.

See the screenshot below:

How to insert image into url field type

Hope it helps!

Clone Project small issues

Publication date: August 16, 2018

1. Widget views are not duplicated.
2. Where a graphic file appears to be empty – I use small png files as separators – the clone project program seems to skip these. Only applies to very small files that have no content.
3. CSS files embedded into a form or widget view database are not carried through.

Formula fields - images and record view mode

Publication date: August 16, 2018

1. I created a formula using an image field + null image (empty) which computes correctly.

2. In widget view this displays correctly and the image location url is correct. All good so far.

3. In record view mode the MTH dynamic link works correctly. It does so by using the img src= syntax followed by an abbreviated url, for example; img src=‘/images/data/dcPmobW7LgW4BcI8o2W7b7/c4W4hdVSjisjfBW7LSgcjZ/agent-pic.png’ – this where the field inserted was |image link|

The above is OK in a limited way.
The problem is that it does not allow the image derived from the formula to be used in any practical way as it can not be opened by the href tag because the syntax img src= is built into the output from MTH into Record View mode.

This strange because as noted above the url location of the Widget view image is correctly output and displayed.

Is it not possible to output the whole url without the img src= prefix into the Record View? This way the user can decide how they will use the url output, for example img src=‘http://www.mytaskhelper.com/images etc etc’ or indeed href= “http://www.mytaskhelper.com/images etc etc” or both together to open an image link.

I have tried using java to unstring the syntax that MTH passes to Record View mode for a dynamic link. No success.

The project I am designing uses 4 MTH relationships where each database contains images of localities and properties. For example, in data entry the user selects a relational database that contains 10 images of a property, these are then passed to the master form using a formula. All works nicely.

But when the MTH dynamic link for the field passed in displayed in Record View it comes in with the the prefix of img src rather than the real url for the image, which is correctly shown in widget view.

This means that I either have to display small images in Record View mode that can not be opened using href and therefore useless or place all images in the master form, which is defeats the object of the design.

Global Update Records Function

Publication date: August 16, 2018

Can you allow the global UPDATE ALL RECORDS function to write a default file for fields that are a graphic image, this is a real issue that MTH does not seem to permit. The problem is that some records have been written without the default images and as I have used these extensively it means that I am going to have to manually update records on behalf of clients.

Images in Formula Field Relational Database

Publication date: August 16, 2018

A minor glitch that you should be aware of;

1. Where a RELATIONAL database has been created that features IMAGE fields the FORMULA field does not display an image that exists in another form/database.

2. I have tried various routines and the best result I can get is the file name of the related database image field but not the image itself. I created a null field and then added the field for the relationship that points to an image field, this in the normal way that I have tested and works if an image is within the same database. No matter how I tried I can not bring in the image.

3. This means that an image placed in say a database of sales persons for a specific person can not be related to a database of sales by that sales person.

It appears as though the URL for an image field from a related database is not being copied into the string for a formula field. I am able to show the file name in my test example and have exhausted the list of possible other permutations before sending in this bug report. On each pass of my testing I have checked that the truncation value of the formula field has space available to accept the URL.

Duplicate A Form

Publication date: August 16, 2018

When a form is created to contain default images and blank section headings and then Duplicated both the default images and blank section headings are dropped from the newly created form. This results in the user being forced to re-create all default data for the duplicated form, very time consuming!

Default image in Submit to form

Publication date: August 16, 2018

I confirm that when a duplicated form is set to use Submit To feature that while text field defaults are being read by the data entry form the image fields seem to read in from the original source form – the one that the duplicate was created from – even though the duplicate form has saved the replacing default images.

how do you turn off inline images?

Formula Field Record View URL

Publication date: August 20, 2018

Formula field control options. While MTH provides an exceptional facility to include graphic images in a formula, which is a superb feature, it would be even better if the formula field options also included the ability to enable links to either the Record View widget or a specified url field – in the same way as provided for an Image field.

Images to view in Records

Publication date: August 20, 2018

Hi, I am building a form to collect photo entries for a contest. People will upload their photos in jpeg form onto the form. But in the Records pages, is there a way I can view a thumbnail of the image uploaded? At the moment it is just a linked image file which I have to ‘right click’ to open and save on my computer.

Also, if this is possible, can I attach a thumbnail of the images into the Success email back to the entrant, so they have confirmation that their images are uploaded correctly?

Thank you, Steven
