I have a question - problem?

This looks like what I’ve been looking for. However, I can’t seem to control “Access to only own records”
Even though I have this check marked for new users that register, when they input data they see data from other users.
I created 2 different ‘dummy’ accounts to test. And indeed user ‘A’ is seeing the data of user ‘B’
I’m using the free version at the moment but would upgrade if this can be figured out.

Is it possible that data within one table can be linked to / protected for a single user for input, maintenance and visibility?

E.g. a projects holds tables with data which should be visible to all users and data that should for a single user only.

Just wondering if there’s a way I can have all the users I have registered as Administrators be able to create and edit charts as they can do with reports. Right now, when under their login and editing a chart, only the integration tab is visible, not the settings tab.

I need to create a small app for my customers to subscribe and register products to activate the extended product guarantee.
I created a simple three-level table structure:
Is it possible to restrict the customer access to its vehicles only (and products, obviously)?
Other questions:
– Can I redirect the customer to the Vehicles form or table after a successful login?
– Can I restrict the vehicles and products forms and tables access only for authenticated users?

Struggling to find tutorial Videos

I cant find many video tutorials on youtube for the new version of MTH and I need a lot of help ;-(
Am I looking in the wrong place?

We are looking to create a database that will do the following

We are calling on prospects to offer them a new heating boiler for their home

We collect the data, then do certain checks. Once the checks are completed and the customer is approved we then send out a surveyor to inspect the property. Once the survey is done then we send it to the installer. Once it is installed then the lead generator is paid

We need for the:-

For agents to add leads to a database (i worked this out :-) )
For agents to view their own leads and status only (not that of others)

I would like to take the 1st 4 characters of their business name and add an incremental number to make this their ID. Can this be automated?

When the agent logs in and adds leads in the lead data entry form I would like to automatically add their agent ID. Or even add from a drop down box if it can’t be added automatically

How do you capitalise the letters automatically?

For admin to go in and allocate the leads to a lead manager ( the lead manager only sees their leads)
for the lead manager to book a date for a surveyor –
For the surveyor to see his booked leads with addresses
For lead manager to then allocate to an installer – Installer only sees installs allocated to them

In the data entry forms is it possible to have Multiple columns?

So for example:

We would like to have 2 columns for some of the fields like their name. Also telephone and email horizontal rather than vertical

Access rights

I’m experimenting a little to see what I could do with MTH.
I haven’t manage to find how to set user-specific rights to see certain rows or columns other than defining that a user can see only his/her own records or all records.
We have projects where we define in the beginning of the project which of our employees and our customer contacts should be able to see the status, comments, details and files of the project, regardless of which team member has added the comments, details or files. Then it would be good if we could design the view presented to employees to look a little different than the views presented to the clients (The clients should not see all columns/fields).
Can this be done in MTH?

allow my websusers to upload files in a form widget.
the uploaded files come automatically as attachment in the email notifications.

however when changes or updates are done, these attachments are not sent with the email notifcation.

is there a way to activate this please?

End user to be able to update just some records

I need a end user to be able to update just some records, and not all of them.
The rest of the records must remain unseen for the user.
Is it possible to manage that?

Lookup & Filtering

Team records can be filtered by a user. For instance students added by each user can only be seen by that user (and the administrator in records). But if records are accessed in a relationship drop-down those records are not and cannot be filtered so that the logged in user can only select from their “added by” students. Is this correct?

Login in an update form

I reach out to you once again to see if you could help me with an issue. I’m trying to validate a user before he could update a record in a form. Let me explain myself I’m creating a sort of workflow in wich users register services request, and vendors place bids for their services. In order to do this I created a table for the Services and one for the Vendors so they registre themselves.

I created a form in a report in wich Vendors can only update a field called Bid (wich is the amount for completign the service) and then the user can accept the service or not. The problem is that I need the vendor information to be registred in this report but this must be validated (probably with a Login form) but I don’t know how to link this to forms.

In a simple way, I want to make a user Log In before they can update a record form another table, and also in this table to keep registred who updated it last.

I’m having a hard time trying to explain what I need so if you have further question in this case, please contact me.

It mentions records so I assume that is total number of database detailed records of all types.

And finally, team users. I assume if I am the only tech I have only 1 user?

New admin cannot see records

The image on the left shows what we see when a User logs in to add or edit a record. The image on the right is what we see when someone links from a website.

Note that the fields are not aligned the same. If I change the left one, then the right one is not right.

Also, is there a way that Users can edit records that look like the image on the right?

When i originally signed up from the page on google, I was under the impression we could intergrate user restrictions, as what I was under the impression that when I assign an agent contacts then this is all he can see, and not other forms!!! if that makes sense

Security by Form - too much hassle now

We have 8 “Forms” – I would need to “Invite” a User for EACH of these 8 “Forms” , in order for them to have access to each of them – this change is NOT user-friendly and NOT desired by us, or, it would seem by any normal group of Users!

If I wanted to do this occasionally with several Users, I’d have to do this same long procedure for EACH one!

Earlier, when I added a User, they automatically had access to ALL the “Forms”. It’s a good idea to be able to select which “Forms” a User should have access to, and, which type of access, but, this procedure is very unprofessional. When a User is added, the default should be a specified access (e.g., “Read & Write” or “Read Only” and, by default, should apply to ALL “Forms”, unless otherwise specified, as that’s how most groups of Users would prefer to do this.

Added User - Deleted - Want "Invite"

After I have already invited a User, then, deleted that User, searching for that User again results in an “Add”. Since the email that is sent by doing an “Add” does NOT include the ID & Password, this is NEVER useful (only confusing to the recipient).

So, I need to be able to invite someone, delete then, and re-invite them.

Sometimes, either the recipient deleted this email by mistake, or, it becomes part of their SPAM; so, they ask me to re-send the invitation, but, the system doesn’t have this feature; so, I have to delete them and try to re-invite them (NOT via an “Add” as it’s not useful to them).

Date format for Birthday

The format for birthday is DD-MM-YYYY, whereas, most people in the U.S. are used to MM-DD-YYYY. Please allow the User to either set a preference or, just use what their PC settings use.

Copy Field Content to Another Form

In this form I list the required tasks for the site in question.

I then have a similar form

Where the user records what tasks they have completed.

It would make life easier if the user could select the task list from the first form and copy it to the second form.


Create full change logging and field history

Per the Advanced Options it looks like the DB logs changes – at least Create and Update times.

You should also enable “full audit” logging, so that it records value changes and users effecting changes, and with the implement an automatic “History” view of a record or field.

Merge Duplicates

In the database we uses prior to MTH there was a feature to “merge” duplicate records so that links aren’t broken to other forms. Can we please have the ability to do this in MTH? We have several people adding contacts and sometimes they don’t find the original record and add people again. Thank you!

Limited Selection

This feature request is to have a limit to the selection within a checkbox, or dropdown that would prevent other users from making the same selection.

EX: To select an appointment time with someone and make that time become unavailable for for the next person who fills out the form.

Print Form

Is there code that can be added to a form that would allow users to print the filled form before submitting? I’ve tried adding some html to the iframe code without any luck. Or, on the wish list maybe you could add a print button that could be inserted into a form like a field.

Adding a new note from my main form

In our database we have one main form that tracks our clients. There are many fields that link to other forms like NOTES. We want to be able to create a new note for a client from within the client form instead of having to go to the NOTES form which is very cumbersome.

Back link missing

When the “Allow a web user to edit database records” feature is checked and you go to your embedded data base, the “back” button is not there when you click on “More” or actually edit a record and update the information.

1. Click the “Edit” button on any record.
2. Update part of the information.
3. You will get into the “Record Widget”
4. A “Edit” link will appear at the top but there is no way to go back to the data base unless you click the browser’s “Back” button.

I you need extra information I’ll be glad to provide it!

Temporary remove database access to logged in users

In basic terms – whist Im working on DB, I want no one else to login or to be on DB.

Online DB that end users can edit?

I am a summer camp director and each camp we have parents submit what we call a “Camper Profile.” I ask things like allergies, gender, learning issues. Historically I have been making parents fill out the entire form each year but what if nothing has changed with their camper?
I wonder if there is a way I can have this information online and send each parent a login so they can go in and change information ONLY if they need to or say everything is correct.
Is this possible with your product?
