Anonymous caller reported a flea & tick infestation at the Valor Kennel at the Florida Kennel Compound; investigators inspected the kennel in question on 5/14/10 and observed visible signs of fleas and some ticks; the trainer (Terry) showed investigators the treatments she was using to help keep the infestation under control; investigators suggested that Terry have the dogs dipped with a flea and tick treatment, that all rugs used as bedding be replaced and that the kennel be exterminated as soon as possible; on 5/18/10, a re-inspection was conducted and there did not appear to be any physical presence of fleas or ticks and Terry provided investigators with proof of the flea and tick dip she used to treat the dogs; investigators closed the case, noting they will continue to monitor the conditions at Valor Kennel to ensure general health and welfare of the greyhounds |
