Patron complaint stating that there is an on-going problem at Sanford-Orlando in which greyhounds needlessly break their bones on the track due to the track's high clay surface. Investigator Toner forwarded the complaint to the new track manager, Mark Loewe, to which he responded that the track was purchased from the family that owned it for years a few months prior by Penn National Gaming. Penn has already made some changes to the track in an effort to prioritize animal safety & welfare, and according to Loewe, there is a plan in the works to have the track surface redone in mid-August. |
