DESCRIPTION/NOTES |
Patron complaint - Van Edwards submitted a formal complaint to Chief Investigator, Betty Lewis, alleging that the Richard Alves Kennel was not properly training the dogs (turnaround time for racing dogs is too short) and that this is cheating the betting public; Lewis contacted Edwards (who is described as being a, "chronic complainer") and explained that the minimum turnaround time for the dogs is 3 days and whether or not this sufficient time for the dogs to recover is a decision that is left up to the track vet; in addition, Edwards was told that, "any animal abuse at this or any track in Florida is vigorously prosecuted"; Edwards was satisfied with this response so the case was closed |
