Esquivel, Jr.FloridaFlorida Kennel Compounddeath2010/06/30During a visit to the FL Kennel Compound for routine inspections, the investigator witnessed one of the dogs ("GMC Misplaced") in the Brindle Kennel having a seizure; the trainer (Esquivel) was notified and told the investigator that the dog had had a seizure a couple of days ago; trainer administered medication in the form of potassium bromide to the dog at that time; the investigator advised Esquivel that the dog needed to be seen by an outside vet, GMC Misplaced had been euthanized at the vet hospital; a form was produced showing that the dog was euthanized as a result of suffering a grand mal seizure; based on this, the investigator closed the case without further action citing that the dog suffered from seizures and had to be euthanized so there was no abuse or neglect on behalf of the trainer.
